Maggie Wynn

Is someone who rides a bike – for transport, fun, health and life enhancement. Not sure if that makes her a ‘cyclist’ – though she did complete the 2007 Pedal for Scotland ride in atrocious weather!

Has impressive ability to take an idea – hers or someone else’s – and make it happen, including:

Davidson’s Mains Family Cycle Days, BikeFests (in The Meadows), four Bicycle Film Festivals in Edinburgh, many stalls and rides for TryCycling in Edinburgh, Commuter Challenges, Schools competitions, tyre pressure events (some in connection with Edinburgh’s contribution to European Mobility Week) and most recently Bicycle Fun Days, etc.

Passionate about getting ‘more people cycling, more often’ – sees encouraging children (and families) as vital to this. Happy to prove people who say ‘that won’t work’ wrong.

Chris Hill

Involved in encouraging cycling for many years. Writer, photographer, web site designer and content provider, (e.g. CyclingEdinburgh.info and bicyclefundays), cycle mechanic, serial organisation starter and cycle campaigner/lobbyist.

Founder member of Recycles (cycle shop) which developed into the Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op. Creator of Freewheeling (pioneering monthly magazine for cyclists). Originator of (successful) Water of Leith Millennium Bid. Co-ordinator of Lothian Safe Routes. Responsible for creation of Castlecliff Bicycle Workshop which evolved to become The Bike Station. Producer of Exploring Edinburgh articles and leaflets. Initiator of the Craigmillar Cycles projects ‘umbrella’.

ASSOCIATES

Darren Mirfield

Cycle Trainer, Ride Leader.

David Gardiner

Designer – leaflets, display boards, provider of interesting bikes.

Saying hello to Chris Hill, a ’serial organization starter’. I guess now that I’ve heard the term, I’m one too. NORBA, IMBA, WOMBATS, Salivation Army, Burnt-Out-Club-Foundry, Drooling Banjos, and Women Of Power In The Industry.
Are any of them relevant? Only the ones that eluded me…

OOps this really is like yelling in an empty room.
Chris, thank you for being a Very Kind Guide as I navigated the Cybether trying to figure out a route to Edinburgh.
I’m hoping to learn more about Changing Pace and all the cool events yr doing around E’burgh. Would love to learn how to pronounce the town-name…I’ve been saying “EDdin Burrow”. IS that it? or “Eden Burg”? Like my friends say.
